About Captain Moe
"Hi My name is Captain Moe, I have been a resident here in Key West for 26 years and I would like to tell you alittle bit about my self. The Coast Guard brought me first to the Island in 1984, Were I served on a variety of different vessels, 95 footers, 205 footers, and a mess of small boats at the station. As you can guess those patrols got to be pretty boring until I started breaking out the fishing gear. Right after I got out of the Coast Guard in 1997 I joined up with a new outfit here in town called Sebago Catamarans as the mate. During my many years of service with the Sebago company I got my Captains licence, and became a World Class International Yachtsman. During this period I worked as a mate for one of the best Charter fishing Captains in key west, Captain Ted Baier. Man did we catch fish. But the open ocean and Yacht racing would take me away, to all corners of the world. For the next 7 years I skippered some of the largest racing yachts of the times from Europe to Hawaii. Yes I trolled just about every mile except when we were racing, man did we catch fish. 1997 Brings me back to Key West, I continued racing for a fleet of Hightec sailboats, and started subbing for light tackle boats and offshore captains, to fill my time. 1998 I BOUGHT the Lil Luck and started Moe's Custom Charters. I still didn't have all the yacht racing out of my system so in Oct of 1999 I ran down to New Zealand to race with the Hawaiian Team on a Americas Cup Campaign for 5 months. Man did we catch fish. That was it no more racing for me. Feb 2000 my wife and I had a beautiful baby girl named Miranda Rose Mottice. 2001 I added the Lucky Strike to the fleet, and concentrated on fishing for the next couple of years. 2003 sold the lucky Strike, Retired the Lil Luck, and built the Reel Lucky. which will allow me to better handle all my loyal customers over the years. So give me a call at 305-304-8065 and find out what's biting."
